FRP products have become transmission media in many industries due to their superior corrosion resistance, but what does it rely on to achieve its unique characteristics? The structure of fiber-wound fiberglass reinforced plastic products is divided into three parts: inner lining layer, structural layer and outer protective layer. Among them, the resin content of the inner lining layer is high, generally above %, and the resin content of the resin-rich layer on the inner surface is as high as about %. By selecting the resin used in the inner lining, FRP products can have different corrosion resistance properties when transporting liquids, thereby meeting different work needs. For occasions where external anti-corrosion is required, only the resin for the outer protective layer must be carefully selected. Achieve different purposes of external anti-corrosion.
FRP products can use different anti-corrosion resins according to different corrosive environments, mainly including isophthalic unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl resin, bisphenol resin, epoxy resin and furan resin, etc., depending on the specific situation. For acidic environments, use bisphenol resins, furan resins, etc. for alkaline environments. For solvent-based environments, use vinyl resins, epoxy resins or furan resins. For furan and other resins, it is not very corrosive when acids, salts, solvents, etc. In severe cases, cheaper isophthalic resin can be used. By selecting different resins for the inner lining layer, FRP products can be widely used in working environments such as acids, alkalis, salts, solvents, etc., showing good corrosion resistance.
